Posted August 19, 2020. Hi Paul, There seems to be a rash of similar issues to yours (and mine!) over the last few days. My car is a 2011 XF-S Portfolio. Initial issue was the red restricted performance, and a gentle hissing sound when (trying to) accelerate. First attempt at a cure was to replace the turbo transfer valve, which was seized Halfords say they make the ad-blue to ISO regulations - so its either a bad batch (and that can be told by the same lab results), or the car sensors are at fault. Current car: MY2018 XJR 575 5.0L S/C, 2014 Audi A4 Avant B8 2.0L TDi. Previous: MY 2018 XF-S 3.0SC, MY2017 XF-S 3.0TD, MY2010 XF-S 3.0TD. The original oil burner was later joined by a more powerful 2.2-litre unit, and it's this engine that puts the X-Type on a par with its German rivals for performance and economy. In truth, the X-Type is not a bad car, it's just been unfortunate to suffer at the hands of badge snobs and early teething troubles. Recently went for a drive in my 2007 2.2 X type, and upon turning on the ignition, the ABS warning light, and DSC system fault message came up. These warnings come on before the car even starts moving. I've checked the front wheel speed sensors, and have cleaned them, however the warnings still pops up. Year of Jaguar: 2007.
